Our Main Goal

Knoxville Discount Realty was formed to allow home sellers to choose the services they want rather than have to pay for a bundle of services they do not want. We allow the seller the option to purchase less than the full bundle of services. This business model will benefit consumers who do not want to forgo broker assistance completely but who feel comfortable handling many aspects of the transaction without such assistance.

How We’re Different

The traditional full-service brokers typically charge a commission based on the sales price in return for a bundle of services. If you purchase the MLS only package, but latter feel you need more assistance with the transaction, you can obtain it for an additional fee. We have an additional itemized list of optional services such as post contractual assistance etc. We like to refer to our business model as a “flat fee” broker or “limited-service” broker.

What We Don’t Do

We will not represent the seller on the buying side of the transaction. We are buyer’s brokers and will not act as a dual agent.

We use the efficiencies of technology and employee specialization to give consumers what they want and lower the overall costs associated with a real estate transaction.

What Seller Representatives Do

Since home sellers are commonly represented by a trained and licensed real estate agent whose job it is to protect the best interest of the seller, most consumer advocates agree home buyers should also be represented by their own real estate agent. When a home buyer contacts a listing agent who represents a seller, that agents job is to sell one of their listed properties to the buyer and to protect the best interest of the seller in the process. Their job is not to represent the buyer or protect the interest of the buyer, but, rather, to sell the buyer one of their listings.

As a buyer’s broker, we take very seriously the job of representing our buyer and protecting their best interest.

As your agent, we promise to adhere to a strict code of ethics in conducting any and all activities related to your purchase of a home. In some businesses, simply doing what is legal may be good enough. But in our real estate practice we demand an ethical standard that goes above and beyond the legal requirements. By adhering to strict ethical guidelines we will earn your trust.

Protect Yourself

Other agents call themselves a buyer’s agent – but they may focus on listings (representing sellers) 95% of their time – and only calling themselves a buyer’s agent when they are working with a buyer. Working to represent a buyer’s interests is all I do. Like a brain surgeon – I’m a specialist. If you have a brain problem – who would you rather see – a general practitioner – or a specialist?

No Binding Contracts

KDR will allow you, the seller, to cancel your listing agreement at any time, leaving you free to pursue other brokerage or non-brokerage options if you become dissatisfied with our service.
